Frequently asked questions

Questions about tiling

What does it cost to have tiles laid?

That depends on the area, format, substrate and additional work such as removing old tiles or waterproofing in the bathroom. Our cost calculator gives a ballpark figure per m². You receive the binding quote from vetted tilers in your region.

Can I choose the tiles myself?

Yes. You can view wall and floor coverings in the HGC showrooms and get advice there.

Can new tiles be laid over old ones?

In some cases yes, if the old covering is firm and level and the build-up height works. Removing them is often the better solution, especially in the bathroom because of the waterproofing. We clarify this during the site visit.
